Kakadu National Park Part I

On our way to Darwin we met several people who told us to skip Kakadu National Park and only visit Litchfield. The phrase “Kakadu? Kaka-don’t!” was often used. With plenty of time on our hands and a vow to make up our own decisions about places, we decided we would go and spend two days at Kakadu before heading to Alice Springs. Our first stop in Kakadu National Park was Ubirr. Here we wandered around the main gallery viewing the many Aboriginal rock-art paintings that can be seen, before climbing up to Nardab Lookout to take in the views of the surrounding floodplains.
