Cheese World

I am a huge cheese fan, a big dairy fan in general really. So when we saw a place called Cheese World on the map just outside of Warrnambool and on our Great Ocean Road route we had to make a quick stop off. Allansford Cheese World is opposite Warrnambool’s Cheese and Butter Factory and has a small museum out of the back of the cafe. There is also a supermarket with plenty of cheese to choose from and free tastings are held every hour. We had a look around the museum at the historic machinery used to make the cheese and butter before heading inside to try some. They only make cheddar at the factory and we were able to sample a range of maturities, along with some flavoured varieties. After the tasting we headed into the cafe, where I sampled one of their famous thick shakes (I opted for the spearmint), which was huge and Jack had a nibble pie, which was tiny!
