Our second day in Canberra was spent in the National Museum and the Australian War Memorial, with a walk around part of the lake in between. It was interesting in the museum to be reminded of just how young Australia is, it was only colonised in the 18th century. The war memorial was mine and Jack’s favourite part of Canberra. The memorial had lots of aircraft, tanks and guns on display along with many displays dedicated to the brave men who lost their lives fighting for Australia. Unfortunately we couldn’t spend as much time musing at the War Memorial as we would have liked as we needed to head off to the first stopover town on our journey from Canberra to Adelaide. Apologies for the photo overload!
