The big sport here on the East Coast is Rugby League. The NRL games began a couple of weeks ago, with everyone getting back into supporting their local teams. We had been watching the games at home but jumped at the chance to go and see a game at the local stadium. Last Monday we headed to the Campbelltown Stadium to watch the Round 2 game, where the West Tigers took on the St George-Illawarra Dragons. Having no loyalty to either team we decided to go for the West Tigers as it was their stadium and received Tiger flags on entry. Once into the stadium we headed to the seating and plonked ourselves in two seats near the try line. We had a great time watching the game live, cheering the Tigers on to victory (they beat the Dragons 22-4) although I am still trying to grasp the league rules, I had just got my head around union’s release rule for it now to be completely irrelevant. Unfortunately we probably won’t be able to go to another league game this season, as we are heading out of the state where nearly all the games are held and going west. Fingers crossed we will still be able to catch some of the games on the TV as we travel and maybe by the later rounds I’ll have settled on which team I will go for.
